17 + 3 (surprise puppies) were rescued from the Person County Shelter at the beginning of August

Claire and her 16 beagles buddies, who were rescued from Person County at the beginning of August, are doing a little bit better each and every day. They came to the rescue covered in fleas and with an array of health issues. They are missing a good amount of hair and are still dealing with lots of itching and scratching.

Here is a little pup-date from Claire’s foster mom as of 8/12/2023:

“Claire is continuing to improve. She isn’t itching nearly as much. She seems to be feeling okay after her spay surgery on Monday. She can now get on and off my bed. She is even trying to initiate play with the resident dogs and cats. It might be unnoticeable in pictures, but she had a little bald spot between her eyes that now has hair! “

We are thrilled that these beagles are safe and loved. They will all be looking for furever homes once they are healthy. Please check out our website to see if one might be the right fit for your family. They are named after the TV series “The Bear”: tribeagles.org/fosters
