At Triangle Beagle Rescue, our journey with the four Paw Patrol puppies — Sky, Sweetie, Zuma, and Rocky — began with a heartbreaking discovery in a rural Virginia dumpster. The Halifax Dog Squad initially rescued them, recognizing the urgent need for specialized care due to their severe neglect. Upon their arrival at our rescue in North Carolina on April 3rd, we named them after beloved Paw Patrol characters, hoping to symbolize a fresh start for these innocent souls in the face of their harrowing past.

The condition of these puppies was devastating. They had scratched and bitten off much of their fur, and their bodies were covered in painful sores. Our team suspected that one of them (Rocky) might even be blind. Sadly, their situation was not unique; neglect and abuse cases like this are all too common in our line of work.

The response to their rescue, particularly after sharing their story on TikTok, was overwhelming. People expressed shock and anger at the cruelty these puppies endured, questioning how anyone could mistreat such sweet beings. Thankfully, with the dedication of their loving foster family the puppies started to improve. They started engaging in play and showed less discomfort after just a few baths…and we are happy to report that Rocky is not blind!

After several weeks of good nutrition, medicated baths and appropriate vet care these pups were ready to settle into loving homes. They were scooped up quickly and they all are getting to know their new families.
