After waiting nearly six months for a loving forever home, our best beagle boy Chance was adopted February 4, 2023! His new mom Catherine fell in love with him last fall but, due to family medical issues, she was unable to adopt at that time. Chance had some other approved adopters who were interested in him over the last couple of months, but none of them worked out. Just this week Catherine texted Chance’s foster to see if he was still available — and he sure was! Chance will live in Durham with his canine siblings Floyd (ex lab beagle) and Frannie (hurricane rescue from 2018).

You may remember that Chance came to the rescue in mid-September after a Good Samaritan found him running as a stray in Kenly, NC. He was anemic, heart worm positive and weighed 12 lbs — just skin and bones! The only hair he had left on his tiny body were on the parts of him that he could not reach to scratch.

His loving foster mom nursed him back to health, helped him pack on some pounds and took care of him through his heart worm treatment. He was transformed into a happy go lucky guy whose tail would not stop wagging.

We are thrilled that Chance found a loving furever family where he will be treated like a cherished family member. Thank you to everyone who was part of his rescue story!
