Volunteers work together to fly newborn puppies to their new rescued lives

Volunteer Pilot Jim Novak

Six newborn puppies and their beagle parents had a busy travel day Saturday January 21st as they made their way from Cherokee, NC to Triangle Beagle Rescue (TBR) in Raleigh, NC. Mom and dad beagle were rescued from a backyard breeding situation and brought to the Valley River Humane in Cherokee County. Volunteers at the shelter networked the beagles and quickly secured rescue with TBR. Before they could be moved to their foster home, mom surprised everyone by having 6 puppies on 1/17!

Amazing team work saved this family!

On Saturday morning the puppies (and mom and dad beagle) were carefully packed up and driven by volunteers Dale & Christy Swanton from Waynesville, NC to Hickory. When they arrived in Hickory they boarded their private plane and were flown by volunteer pilot Jim Novak to Raleigh. Once they landed at RDU they were picked up by a TBR volunteer for the final leg of their journey to their foster home.

The entire beagle family has settled in beautifully and they are being pampered by their foster family. If you are interested in adopting one of these adorable puppies, or would like to learn more about Triangle Beagle Rescue and its work, please visit their website at tribeagles.org
