A tale of two NC rescue beagles who found a loving family from Washington state!
Holly and Margarita were adopted together today by a wonderful family from Washington state. Both girls had long, complicated medical journeys in the rescue and we are thrilled they will live out their lives as sisters.
Holly came to us from the Rockingham County shelter. She was found as a stray with what appeared to be an old spinal cord injury, and did not have use of her back legs.
After many months of in-home massage, physical therapy, and electromagnetic therapy, Holly started to use her back legs! She is a bouncy little girl and her only struggle is that sometimes her back legs can’t keep up with the front ones — but she makes it work.
Margarita came to the rescue nearly 5 months ago after she was dumped on a rural back road.
She underwent three major surgeries to repair multiple hernias and remove several masses. She had an amazing recovery in her loving foster home and is ready to start her happily ever after as a pampered beagle gal.
These girls truly hit the forever family jackpot. Their human dad is a recently retired airline pilot, and he used his flight privileges to come pick up the girls. Their new mom is a medical professional and has all the knowledge needed to care for these girls who did not have such a great start to their lives. Holly and Margarita will live on a 20-acre home in Washington state, where it is not uncommon for elk and other wildlife to approach their fenced in yard. The beagles will love making many new furry friends. They will spend half of their time at their second home in Arizona. When they’re not at home, they’ll be enjoying lots of RV trips across the country.
